Alexandra trained as a doctor at the University of Bergen, with an exchange at Karolinska Institutet, and has worked in emergency medicine, primary care, geriatrics and clinical genetics. Six years in Norway showed her how another health system is organised, a view she brings to her work in Finland. At Hanken School of Economics she majored in finance, which taught her to ask what care costs and who pays, and led to her research on digital-first care. Today she is a Research Physician at Mehiläinen, bringing AI and data into everyday care, while doing a PhD on large language models in clinical settings at the University of Helsinki and an MSc in Technology at Aalto University.
She wants AI to give clinicians more time with their patients. Clinical work keeps that goal concrete: she knows what a long shift of documentation feels like. She works in Swedish, Finnish, English and Norwegian, and in 2025 the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim named her in its Scientific Trailblazers category. Outside work she sails, as a former member of the Youth National Sailing Team of Finland, and in winter she skis.
